Fly into Tenerife South (TFS): It’s only a 25-minute transfer. If you fly into the North airport, you’re looking at a much longer (and pricier) taxi ride.
Check the “Pearly Grey” area: This part of town has some great apartment-style all-inclusives that offer a bit more space than a standard hotel room.
Playa de Ajabo: This is the town’s man-made black sand beach. It’s got a great little beach bar (though check it’s open!) and a paved ramp that makes it very accessible.
Dolphin & Whale Watching: While boats don’t leave directly from here, you’re only 10 minutes from Puerto Colón, where the main excursions depart.
Coastal Walk to Playa Paraiso: There’s a photogenic coastal path that links Callao Salvaje to its neighbour, Playa Paraiso. It’s a great way to work up an appetite for lunch.
For the Sunseekers: August and September are the hottest months, with temperatures reaching the high 20s and the sea at its warmest.
